When the Livermore Falls Fire Department began searching for a frontline apparatus, they wanted a reliable option that could be evaluated firsthand. After identifying an engine available through Command Fire Apparatus, Captain Ortiz traveled from Maine to inspect it in person. During his Sunday visit, he assessed pump performance, storage configuration, mechanical condition, and structural integrity, confirming the apparatus met their operational needs—especially for rural fire response. He recommended the purchase to the town board, which approved it shortly thereafter. A few weeks later, Engine 3 was delivered fully serviced and professionally lettered, ready to move into frontline service once equipment installation and training are completed.

Livermore Falls shared the following highlights about their new Engine 3:
Improved Water Capacity and Fireground Performance
The truck carries 1,000 gallons of water, giving crews a stronger initial attack capability—especially useful in areas without hydrants. With a powerful pump system, the engine allows the department to apply more water, faster, which can make a measurable difference during early fire suppression.
Safer Ride and Work Environment for Firefighters
The engine seats six personnel and includes integrated gear storage, creating a safer, more organized work environment during response. Upgraded LED lighting provides better visibility during evening operations, while improved suspension increases stability and reduces fatigue when traveling to incident scenes.
Designed for Harsh Winter Conditions
With automatic tire chains, the truck is equipped to navigate snow-covered and icy roads safely, ensuring reliable dispatches during difficult weather—a critical need in Maine’s winter climate.
Smarter Equipment Support
The engine includes on-board power generation, flood lighting, a full ladder complement, and upgraded compartment storage, allowing crews to access tools more efficiently and operate effectively at night or during extended scenes.
Built on Proven Apparatus Performance
As a Pierce platform known for structural durability and reliable field performance, the truck offers long-term dependability that departments expect when upgrading a frontline engine.

The acquisition of Engine 3 reflects the Livermore Falls Fire Department’s ongoing commitment to improving response capability and safety. Command Fire Apparatus is proud to support their team and remains dedicated to helping departments nationwide secure dependable apparatus that meet operational needs and withstand the demands of emergency service.
