The City of Mexico Beach in Florida was under a time constraint when it came to adding a new piece of apparatus to their fleet. After two members of the department and another local area chief all stumbled across Command Fire Apparatus, they knew they’d found the company up to the task.
“We were under a bit of a time crunch once state funds were made available to us to buy a ladder truck with a chassis and ladder that fitted the bill,” said Fire Chief Sandy Walker.
The department initially researched older trucks to purchase and then modify but changed their minds when they found the 2009 Pierce 75’ Quint 1500/400 for sale on CommandFireApparatus.com.
“Even though the Pierce was a few years newer than we originally sought out, we knew it was the right fit for our needs because of how well it was maintained,” said Walker.
The 2009 Pierce 75’ Quint received some minor updates and cosmetic changes but was otherwise ready for service. The department will be rolling out their new apparatus on Monday, June 3rd.
