Most used apparatus online belongs to someone else. A listing site takes a fee to put a stranger’s truck in front of you, then steps aside. If the pump fails its test, that is between you and a department three states away.
Command buys the truck outright. It sits in our yard, goes through our shop, and carries our name when it leaves. That means we absorb the risk before you ever see it — and it means there is exactly one company accountable for the unit you buy.

How a truck gets to your bay
For Command-owned units, once the truck is sold, we complete the final system checkout and applicable third-party DOT, pump or aerial testing before delivery. Nothing is skipped because a truck looks clean.
Our team evaluates and purchases the apparatus outright. It becomes our inventory and our risk, not a listing we pass along.

DOT inspection and pump or aerial certification are performed by an independent third party — not by us, so the results mean something.
Your department name and numbers go on before delivery. The truck shows up looking like it belongs to you, because it does.

You do not have to travel to see it
Sending two or three members several hours to look at a truck costs real money before you have bought anything. We offer virtual showings by live video call instead.
We walk the apparatus the same way we would in person. Cab, pump panel, compartments, chassis, body, engine, aerial. Ask us to open something, start the engine or take a closer look and we will. Bring your chief, your apparatus committee, your drivers and your mechanic onto the same call so everyone evaluates the same truck at once.
It is not a replacement for a proper inspection when you are ready to buy. It is a first step, so you only make the trip for a truck worth travelling to see.
